Communication, Mind and Language
Series edited by Ruth Kempson (Kings College London) and Robin Cooper (University of Gothenburg, Sweden)
The volumes in this series present a view of language and human communication in terms of evolving systems whose intrinsic dynamics is driven by the needs of everyday human interaction and yet constrained by the cognitive nature of the human mind. Approaches represented in the series include, but are not limited to, formal and computational modelling of dialogue phenomena and language as a dynamic system, diachronic studies of linguistic change, experimental and theoretical studies of linguistic and nonlinguistic communication and coordination (including, for example, graphical, musical, coordination), game-theoretical and other formal models of cognitive evolution, and formal and probabilistic studies of language variation. The series seeks to promote an interdisciplinary approach to human communication involving among other disciplines: theoretical and computational linguistics, psychology, logic and philosophy.
